3. Agreement to Services

By booking or requesting a quote for our services, you enter into a contract with Homestead Movers. We agree to provide the services as described in the service agreement, and you agree to pay for these services in accordance with the agreed-upon terms. The terms of the agreement are outlined in the service quote or contract, including pricing, payment methods, and cancellation policies.

4. Pricing and Payment

Prices for services are determined based on factors such as the size of the move, distance, and additional services requested. A detailed quote will be provided before any service is rendered. All payments must be made as per the payment schedule agreed upon during the booking process. We accept various forms of payment, including credit/debit cards, checks, and cash. Additional charges may apply for any changes made after booking or for services beyond those initially agreed upon.

5. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for providing accurate information related to the moving and storage services, including inventory, addresses, and special instructions. It is also the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all belongings are properly packed, especially fragile or valuable items. If the customer requests packing services, Homestead Movers will provide the necessary materials and services to pack items securely.

6. Cancellations and Changes

Cancellations or changes to booked services must be made at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fees. Any cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled move will be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 25% of the total service cost. Changes to the booking, such as the date, time, or scope of the move, may result in additional fees based on availability and the nature of the change.

7. Liability and Insurance

Homestead Movers takes reasonable care in handling your belongings during the moving process. However, we are not liable for any damage or loss caused by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to, weather, accidents, or acts of nature. Our liability for damages is limited to the lesser of the actual cost of repair or the replacement cost of the damaged item.

We strongly recommend purchasing additional insurance coverage for valuable or fragile items. Our basic coverage includes damage protection for goods in transit, but additional insurance may be necessary for high-value items.

8. Prohibited Items

Homestead Movers does not transport hazardous materials, explosives, flammable liquids, or any items deemed illegal or unsafe. You must inform us of any such items before the move. If any prohibited items are found, we reserve the right to refuse transportation.

9. Access to Property

The customer must ensure that the moving crew has safe and legal access to the property. This includes providing adequate space for the moving truck to park and the safety of the moving crew. If access is restricted or unavailable, additional fees may apply.

10. Delivery and Timing

While we make every effort to meet delivery and arrival times, all estimated delivery times are provided as approximations. Delays due to traffic, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances may occur. We will communicate any significant delays to the customer and work to reschedule the move accordingly.

11. Storage Services

If you are using our storage services, Homestead Movers is not responsible for any items left in storage for extended periods beyond the agreed-upon term. You must arrange for the timely pickup of your belongings. Any items left in storage beyond the agreed-upon date may incur additional charges.

12. Customer Privacy

Homestead Movers respects your privacy and will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except as necessary to provide the services requested or as required by law. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we handle your personal data.

13. Force Majeure

Homestead Movers will not be held liable for any delays or failure to perform services due to events or conditions outside our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, wars, pandemics, or other unforeseeable circumstances.

These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which our business is located. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that state.

15. Modifications to Terms

Homestead Movers reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and the revised terms will apply to all services provided after the date of the update.

16. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, the customer agrees to first seek resolution through informal means by contacting our customer service department. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be submitted to mediation or arbitration as a means of resolving the matter without litigation.
